Description of Duties
Hyllinge School is seeking an engaged and skilled special mathematics teacher who wants to be a central part of our preventive and health-promoting work. You will be an important player in the school's development and work closely with students, teachers, work teams, and student welfare services to create good conditions for all students to succeed in their mathematical development.
Your Assignment
As a special mathematics teacher, you teach students in need of special support—both individually and in smaller groups. You plan, implement, and follow up instruction and support interventions based on students' different needs. The role also includes:
• conducting assessments, screenings, and pedagogical evaluations
• analyzing students' difficulties and needs
• contributing suggestions for working methods and teaching strategies
• establishing and following up on support plans
• providing collegial mentoring and supporting the mathematics teachers at upper secondary level
• being an active part of the school's student welfare team and working to promote and prevent barriers in the learning environment
You have an important role in developing accessible instruction and helping all students progress as far as possible in their learning development.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
• a licensed teacher with a special education diploma in mathematics
• qualified to teach mathematics in grades 7–9
• experienced in planning, implementing, and following up on special support
• well familiar with primary school regulations and relevant digital tools
• knowledgeable in mathematics pedagogy and confident in identifying and addressing different types of mathematical difficulties
Merits include:
• experience working as a special teacher at upper secondary level
• special education competence
• experience leading instruction in special education groups
• teacher certification with qualifications in multiple academic subjects
