Stiglunds School is a workplace with approximately 600 students, of which 330 students attend upper secondary (grades 7-9) and approximately 60 employees. It is a school for grades F-9 located in a beautiful outdoor environment approximately 3 km from Gävle city center. Over the past year, we have received several new school buildings that have positively impacted the learning environment. We actively work with preventive and health-promoting initiatives to maintain a safe environment and good working conditions at our school. Stigslunds School 7-9 will also participate in a mathematics project that spans 3 years. The purpose of the project is to systematically develop mathematics instruction. In Stigslunds rector's area, we work particularly with developing students' reading comprehension. After completed screenings, we conduct special reading initiatives. WORK DUTIES As a special education teacher in Stigslunds rector's area, you participate in the area's special education professional meetings and you are an important support in the school's preventive and health-promoting work. Your assignment includes: • Teaching students in need of special education support, both in groups and individually. • Assessing students' need for special support. • Establishing intervention plans. • Conducting screenings. • Providing some collegial guidance to teachers. • Working closely with teachers, school leadership, and other student health staff and being a driving force in the school's student health team. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have: • Teaching certification with authorization to teach mathematics and advanced education in special education within mathematics. • Several years of experience as a teacher and experience teaching students with special support needs in mathematics, both individually and in small groups. • Knowledge of the primary school curriculum and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. • Knowledge and experience working with digital tools and you use these as a natural part of your pedagogical work with students. To succeed in the role, you have: • Good ability to lead and motivate students and make them feel comfortable and well. It is natural for you to help students feel belonging and be included. • In social contexts, you are proactive and build trust in your professional relationships. • You have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians and are good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your language based on the current situation. • You are organized and plan your work well. You have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and use resources to best achieve results.
