You will work in a principal's area with three schools based at Elmsta School with special responsibility for students in grades three through six. You are part of a student support team with a school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist, and together you are three special education teachers who collaborate. The assignment includes: planning, implementing, and following up on special education interventions conducting educational assessments and contributing to accommodations and targeted support coaching teachers in the classroom based on guidance and stimulation participating in work with intervention plans, follow-up, and evaluation collaborating closely with teachers, student support services, and school leadership contributing to the school's preventive and promotional work being part of the school's safety team Challenges and Opportunities You will meet students with varying needs and circumstances, which requires flexibility, structure, and strong analytical skills. What You Need to Bring Requirements Licensed teacher with a special education teacher degree Meritorious: strong knowledge of and experience working with students in need of targeted support special education teacher degree with a focus on reading and writing ability to analyze students' learning and adapt instruction based on needs strong collaboration skills and a professional approach strong communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written We are seeking candidates with the competence to contribute to our operations regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, ethnic background, religion or other belief, sexual orientation, or disability. Welcome to Us Elmsta School is located in the community of Älmsta north of Norrtälje. The school is one of three schools in the Väddö principal's area, consisting of Grisslehamn grades F-6, Norrsund grades 7-9, and Elmsta grades F-6 schools. Together we have approximately 270 students, and the schools are led by one principal and two assistant principals. We have a joint student support team that supports the schools. We have functional facilities and the schools are located with nature as our nearest neighbor. Together we are approximately 45 employees in various professions, and a mix of those with long experience and those with shorter experience creates a good dynamic for developmental work.
