Ref: 20262078 Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a special education teacher for our SU-group grades 7-9 at Hermodsdalsskolan. As a special education teacher, you will work with our middle school students. You will have overall responsibility for our SU-group by coordinating and organizing instruction based on current needs. In addition to teaching students in the SU-group, you will work to support the development of an accessible learning environment and assist teachers with accommodations. Together with two other special education teachers, you are part of the school's student support team and serve as the strongest link between the student support team and the grade 7-9 teaching staff. You will also play an active role in following up on teaching outcomes at both individual and group levels with the rest of the team, and analyzing data to improve teaching practice. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a certified primary school teacher with credentials in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language and mathematics for grades 7-9 and who holds a special education teacher degree. It is an advantage if you also have credentials in a science or social studies subject. Previous experience working as a special education teacher is a plus. It is a requirement that you have experience teaching at the middle school level and with language and knowledge development teaching methods. Experience teaching in an SU-group is an advantage. You need to have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. Strong didactic and pedagogical skills are important. About the Workplace Hermodsdalsskolan is an F-9 school with approximately 500 students. The after-school program has about 90 students and is characterized by a good pedagogical environment that puts student interests and curiosity at the center.
