Description We are now seeking a special education teacher in mathematics and Swedish with certification to teach grades 4-6! Gamlestadsskolan is a grades F-9 school located in the heart of the historic Gamlestaden neighborhood, serving students primarily from the local area and the rest of East Gothenburg. The Gamlestaden district is currently in a highly expansive phase with several planned projects to become one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for transportation, housing, and services. Gamlestadsskolan has approximately 580 students in grades F-9 and we also have four after-school care programs where our youngest students can receive supervision. The school is organized with smaller schools within the larger school to increase closeness and ensure all students feel seen. We actively work to create a sense of community where the school's teachers and students collectively feel responsibility for the school's environment and well-being. Job Responsibilities As a special education teacher, you will work together with general education teachers to provide students with the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. This enables each student to develop to their full potential according to educational goals. You will provide specialized educational support to students, working both individually and in groups. Together with the school's special education specialist and special education teachers, you will drive the development of pedagogical work with a special focus on meeting the needs of all children and students.
