St. Iliansskolan is a grades 4-9 school located in central Enköping near the travel center. The school climate is warm and caring, as well as creative and positive for learning. JOB DUTIES
As a special education teacher, you work primarily directly with students. Your work with students may involve both adaptations and special support on an individual basis, in small groups, or in class. You work closely with the school's special education coordinator and other special education teachers. These are assigned to their respective teams where you serve as the link between the team and the student support team. When needed and in collaboration with student support and teachers, you are responsible for educational assessments. You help identify assistive tools and alternative teaching materials and methods to create good learning environments at our school.
We expect you to see each student from a holistic perspective. Your role includes promoting an inclusive approach where students, as far as possible, can receive support within the classroom. We want a learning environment adapted to the student's needs.
You also work with mapping and observations of both individual students and groups. You conduct educational assessments, design adaptations and intervention plans, or support educators in parts of this work. The position also includes mentoring where you are a mentor in a class together with another educator.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a special education teacher degree with a focus on language, writing and reading development or mathematics development.
You have strong pedagogical skills and are skilled at motivating and inspiring our students. Finding the keys to each student's learning is something that particularly motivates you. Of course, you have a positive attitude and meet students, guardians, and colleagues with competence and warmth. You are organized, flexible, and solution-focused.
You are experienced in working with various assessment tools and methods for analyzing student needs. You can plan and lead work with assessments and evaluations of students' need for special support and serve as support in implementing measures at individual, group, and school levels. You have good knowledge of digital tools and other compensatory aids that you can share with our educators.
You have good references from previous employers.
