Montessori Mondial in Lund (MML), one of AcadeMedia Primary Schools AB, is a free school with a smaller format serving 250 students with approximately 40 staff members. You will be part of our student support team (EHT), which in addition to the special education teacher includes the principal, special educator, school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist, and school physician. The EHT, led by the principal, meets once a week, with an "open reception" for teachers and pedagogues who have the opportunity to discuss and receive feedback on student matters from the collective student support team. Responsibilities: As a special education teacher, you have experience and interest in student learning. You also know how to provide support and serve as a sounding board regarding individual accommodations and participate in pedagogical assessments, action plans, and specialized support alongside teachers and special educators. Our EHT's focus is to support and guide colleagues for increased goal achievement among all students. We have consistently high goal achievement, with focus on safety, well-being, and high expectations for our students. Individual students in grades 8 and 9 who do not meet goals in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, English, and Math are offered statutory vacation school, planned and followed up by three regular teachers in collaboration with special educators who conduct instruction two to three days during school breaks, totaling 75 hours during the school year. You will need to be prepared to share vacation school work 1-2 days per school break with our special educator. This work includes overtime compensation according to contract (150-200%), which you can take as time off at an appropriate time or as salary. We are interested in candidates with Swedish/Swedish as Second Language and/or English in their degrees. If you have certification in both Swedish/English, we view that as an asset. Primary interventions focus on reading and writing. We have a small math group for students needing additional support, taught by a qualified math teacher. You: - are a teacher with special education training with experience and strong interest in working with students both individually and in groups. You should have good knowledge of student support using compensatory aids. - view ICT as an obvious support tool for all students. You have the tools you assess you need in your position. Students use Chromebooks and iPads where appropriate. Support programs are available to all students. We use Prorenata as our documentation system, ensuring safe and systematic management of all student matters. You will receive internal training if any of these programs are new to you. - have professional support through AcadeMedia's central student support services. You are also part of the professional group within Montessori Mondial, consisting of special educators and special pedagogues from all our Montessori schools. - have a holistic view of students' learning and abilities and an approach that includes genuine student focus in all matters, with personal ability to create interest and stimulate students at different levels. - involve students and conduct dialogue that gives them influence over their own learning. - can and will meet with parents in ways that create understanding and cooperation between school and home. - see the teacher as one of the most decisive factors for how well a student can succeed in school and your role as a natural sounding board and knowledge source. - want and can work individually with students in need of specialized support, with support measures in regular classroom instruction in class/groups, as well as mentor individually and in work teams for increased goal achievement in the classroom.
