The Child Protection Centre announces a competition for One (1) Child Support Specialist position in the Support Services Department, Project Support Services Implementation Division – in Riga (for the duration of project implementation until 30.09.2027.) Position objective: To provide support, representation of rights and interests, and connection to appropriate services for children in out-of-home care who have behavioral and/or addiction problems within the framework of the EU-funded project "support measures for children with behavioral and addiction problems and their families" (hereinafter – the project). Key job responsibilities: - Assessment of the child's social situation and needs: together with the child, conduct an assessment of the child's life history, experience, physical environment, needs, social functioning abilities, risk factors and resources, ensuring the child's perspective is heard; - develop a support plan together with the child; - provide support to the child and their legal representative or foster family (if applicable) in implementing the developed support plan; - create the child's file, including assessment results, the child's life history map, roadmap, support plan, cooperation agreement and assessment results; - ensure representation of the child's interests in state and municipal institutions, including involvement in cases of changing the child's out-of-home care forms and report to competent authorities about violations of children's rights; - collaborate with the child, listen to their opinion, represent and respect the child's rights and interests; cooperate with natural and legal persons involved in the child's case, establish cooperation with institutions and organizations. Requirements for candidates: - academic or second-level professional higher education in social work, social pedagogy, psychology, or pedagogy; - at least one year of experience working with families and children, or with children or youth; - understanding of state administration operations and regulatory acts regulating the field of child protection; - knowledge and skills in resolving child rights issues; - education obtained in the state language or state language proficiency corresponding to level C, stage 1; - ability to work with standard office software (MS Word and MS Excel, internet browsers, email applications); - category B driver's license. We offer: - monthly salary from 1949,00 EUR to 2052,00 EUR (before tax payment) in accordance with the established qualification category and professional experience in the relevant field acquired in the last five years; - bonuses and social guarantees in accordance with provisions established in state administration; - responsible and interesting work in the field of child rights protection; - professional knowledge, skills and competence development; - opportunity to contribute to the piloting and implementation of the Child Support Specialist service in Latvia; - opportunity to expand knowledge and gain practical experience in the field of child rights protection; - health insurance after the trial period; - cumulative working time.
