Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The center provides care with various aspects of investigation, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat and jaw surgery in focus. The center is a regional clinic where highly specialized care is provided for patients from the entire northern health care region, and conducts research, education and development.
Neurosurgery has both planned and acute operations where the patient is always in focus. We have a large patient flow with both short and longer care periods. We assist the entire northern health care region with highly specialized neurosurgical care 24 hours a day, year-round. We handle, for example, treatment of skull trauma, brain hemorrhages and intracranial and spinal tumors. We also have a large number of procedures within functional neurosurgery.
At the unit, active research is conducted in movement disorders including DBS, subarachnoid hemorrhage and malignant brain tumors.
With us, patients receive high-quality care in a developing organization. We are now looking for a specialist/senior physician in neurosurgery or anesthesia and intensive care who can be responsible for care at our Neuro-Intensive Care Unit (NIVA). We are currently setting up a NIVA with 4 ventilator beds and 8 intermediate care beds (NIMA).

JOB DUTIES
As a specialist/senior physician with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure. Your primary responsibility is for the development and round activities in our new NIVA and NIMA. Depending on whether your background is neurosurgery or anesthesia, on-call duties and operative work may be included. There are good opportunities to develop and conduct your own research. There are good opportunities for development with room to grow in your professional role.
Since we are a university hospital, supervision of students is included in the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in neurosurgery or anesthesia and intensive care. To be eligible as a senior physician, you need to meet the Northern Health Care Region's senior physician standard.
As a person, you have strong collaborative skills, can communicate freely in Swedish in speech and writing, and have good interaction with patients and colleagues.
Employment form: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent.
Working hours: Shift work.
If your qualifications have not been subject to expert review previously, this shall be done before taking office in accordance with Regulation (1998:1518) on qualifications for certain positions in health and medical care, etc.
