Specialist Officer, Function Leadership and Development at Must

The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) conducts defense intelligence operations and military intelligence and security services in support of Swedish foreign, defense and security policy, as well as for mapping external threats to Sweden. Main Responsibilities In this role, you will work with both ongoing case management and development work within various projects. The work is conducted in close cooperation with other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces as well as collaboration with other authorities and NATO. You will have a central role in developing the Swedish Armed Forces' intelligence and security service function and contribute to the Armed Forces' long-term capability. Examples of Work Tasks: Participate in projects and manage ongoing cases within your area of responsibility. Contribute to the development of overarching strategic concepts, doctrines, and objectives and requirements for the Swedish Armed Forces' intelligence and security service function. Develop and further refine requirement specifications in personnel, methodology and material matters. Prepare governing documents, plans and orders. Coordinate development work between different parts of the organization. Direct and support functional schools and competence centers in the development of training and exercise activities. Participate in evaluation activities and experience analysis to contribute to operational development. Monitor external developments and analyze trends affecting your area of responsibility. Collaborate with other parts of the organization and with other authorities. The position is located in Stockholm, where the majority of the work is conducted. Official travel occurs as well as participation in the organization's exercise activities, which may involve absence of a few weeks per year. Internal competence development is a prioritized part of the position and gives you the opportunity to continuously develop your expertise. The role also provides broad knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' processes and how the various parts of the operations collaborate. You will work with both function leadership and long-term development, both within and outside Must, which will give you broad and comprehensive knowledge of the entire Swedish Armed Forces and NATO. About the Unit The department you will join is part of Must's staff and supports the Chief of Must in directing and coordinating the development of both Must and the intelligence and security service in the rest of the Swedish Armed Forces. The department consists of several sections with both military and civilian employees with expertise in, for example, concepts and policy, organizational and material development, digitalization, competence supply and research. The department works closely with other planning and development activities within the Swedish Armed Forces, NATO, the Government Offices, other authorities, educational institutions and the business sector. Qualifications Specialist Officer degree (OR-6) with a focus on intelligence and security service Documented experience of staff service at the relevant level (OR-7) Good ability to analyze and structure information, lead projects, build networks and collaborate Good ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing, in Swedish and English Meritorious Qualifications Documented experience in intelligence or security service Documented formal education in intelligence or security service Documented experience from international operations or other international work Experience from functional schools and centers Documented experience of Headquarters processes and/or development work Good language skills in a third language The above-mentioned qualifications must be verifiable upon request through certificates, references and work or selection tests. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
