Description The Section for Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Sahlgrenska comprises an inpatient ward, endoscopy operations, and outpatient units with an associated day care unit. We maintain close collaboration with the transplant center, upper and lower abdominal surgery operations at Sahlgrenska Hospital. The unit also includes an intestinal failure center and gastrointestinal laboratory where patients with intestinal failure and functional bowel disease are managed at regional and national/international levels. We also have our own national responsibilities and participate in national healthcare processes. The section conducts active research in several areas, has significant engagement in teaching, professional development, and development of clinical operations. Responsibilities The position involves patient care for those with gastroenterological conditions with a focus on luminal gastroenterology. Work at the endoscopy unit and hepatological matters are also included in the job description. Work is conducted during office hours and on-call duties are included to varying degrees. The responsibilities also include promoting existing research and teaching medical students and physicians in training. Qualifications We are seeking a specialist physician in gastroenterology. It is highly meriting if the applicant has a doctoral degree and an active research program. Experience with pharmaceutical studies is also meriting. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position. In the event of recruitment of nurses/physicians with foreign credentials/specialist certification, the position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish credentials/specialist certification.
