Our Operations Women's health encompasses the obstetrics section and gynecology section, including the Reproduction Center. Akademiska sjukhuset is a university hospital and we provide both outpatient and inpatient care for the Region and Uppsala County. We conduct high research activity and have significant educational responsibility. Our collaboration with the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Uppsala University is good and productive. At the Reproduction Center at Akademiska sjukhuset, we conduct investigations of involuntary infertility. We also perform most types of fertility treatment, such as ovulation stimulation, inseminations, IVF treatments, fertility-preserving treatments, and egg and sperm donation treatments. We investigate and treat both male and female infertility. At the Reproduction Center, a large multidisciplinary team with extensive experience in advanced reproductive medicine works to achieve good results. We hold regular joint donation, physician, and department meetings and collaborate across professional boundaries. Your Assignment The position is adapted based on your previous experience. If you are a subspecialist in reproductive medicine, your work will include everything within a subspecialist physician's competence, including egg retrieval, embryo transfer, reproduction clinic, and the opportunity to perform or learn to perform testicular biopsy/microsurgical testicular sperm extraction. If you are a specialist physician in obstetrics and gynecology with an interest in, but little or no previous experience with, reproductive medicine, an extensive introduction to reproductive medicine and gynecological ultrasound will be provided (many of our colleagues are trained in advanced gynecological ultrasound). There is an opportunity to have a gynecological endocrinology clinic under good supervision. Your Qualifications We are seeking a specialist physician in obstetrics and gynecology, with either subspecialist competence in reproductive medicine or an interest in reproductive medicine, for a 12-month temporary position at the Reproduction Center. For those with an interest, there are excellent opportunities to learn extensively within reproductive medicine and build strong credentials for a future subspecialist application.
