Our Offer The Emergency Clinic has an extensive training mission for AT physicians and ST physicians in several other specialties. We also conduct research and teaching in emergency medicine and have our own research unit. As the first university clinic in Sweden, we conduct emergency care as an independent academic activity. As a specialist physician, you will take an active role in mentoring medical students in the new 12-term medical education program. This gives you the opportunity to develop your teaching skills and contribute to the education of future physicians. Job Description The Emergency Clinic at Universitetssjukhuset in Linköping (US) is part of Närsjukvården in central Östergötland and has approximately 195 employees, including 64 physicians and 40 specialists in emergency medicine. As a specialist physician, you will primarily work as a physician in an emergency team. One of our teams focuses on critically ill and unstable patients. The clinic staffs an on-call line in emergency medicine 24/7. The on-call team has operational responsibility for the emergency department, serves as team leader in the acute care unit, mentors colleagues, and provides medical advice to ambulance services. As a specialist in emergency medicine with broad experience, there is also the opportunity to work as on-call. As a specialist physician, you are an important part of the clinic's continued development. We have several medical areas of responsibility where you can contribute to the clinic's skills development, procedures, and training. One of our development projects is specialization within various areas such as acute geriatric medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, Critical Care, POCUS, disaster medicine, and prehospital medicine. In these areas, we invest in strong interprofessional training and skills development. About You We are looking for someone who is a specialist in emergency medicine or another related specialty, such as internal medicine or intensive care, preferably with experience in emergency medicine and ambition to become an emergency physician. Active research and teaching experience in the field are advantageous. A requirement is that you have Swedish medical licensure (must be attached to the application) and good knowledge of the Swedish language. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other organizations, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of Swedish language both spoken and written. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, particularly regarding leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
