Specialist Physician for the Primary Care Department in Tierp We are now seeking a new colleague for the primary care department in Tierp. Start date is by agreement, and the position is 70-100% full-time. Your Assignment You will work closely with a care team consisting of a registered nurse, nursing assistant, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and pharmacist, as well as a dietitian when needed. The work involves assessing patients for potential inpatient care on the department, providing inpatient care, and planning for discharge. We place great emphasis on individualizing care and involving both patients and their families, as well as on coordinating planning with primary care centers and municipalities to create security and clarity after discharge. Currently, two specialists work part-time at the unit, and we are now expanding with a specialist colleague with the goal of always having two physicians on duty sharing the physician responsibilities on the department. You will work weekdays between 8:00-16:30, with compensation related to geographic location. On-call duties are not part of this assignment. Our Operations The Primary Care Department is part of Tierp Health Center. The department has 18 care beds with shorter stay periods and adapted admission and discharge processes. The assignment is at primary care level for patients 17 years and older. The department primarily cares for elderly patients with complex needs who require inpatient care but are not expected to benefit from hospital resources. Patients are admitted from health centers, home care services in North Uppland, the local on-call clinic in Tierp, mobile primary care teams, and Academic Hospital. The department also offers some day care services. We work according to a person-centered approach where great emphasis is placed on involving the patient and their relatives in care. Your Qualifications and Competence We are seeking someone who is specialist-qualified in general medicine, internal medicine, or geriatrics and holds a Swedish medical license. You have a commitment to meeting patients with increasing frailty and to adapting care based on the individual's wishes and circumstances. You are accustomed to working independently and taking initiative, but are also interested in a team-based approach. It is important that you are a good communicator in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You have good collaboration skills and appreciate teamwork.
