Your New Job The majority of your work as a nursing assistant involves direct care work with the residents. The work involves providing person-centered care in all aspects necessary for the resident to feel secure and live as meaningful and normal a life as possible. For example, by helping residents with hygiene, getting dressed, meals, and offering community, activities, and walks. Other duties include following jointly established routines such as placing orders, setting tables, serving food, washing dishes, doing laundry, restocking supplies, administering medications, and accompanying residents to appointments such as the dentist when needed. In all these areas, residents should be involved and activated as much as possible to promote their functional abilities. The work also includes providing family support and palliative care and services at the end of life. The work includes various forms of handover reporting, documentation, contact person responsibilities, ombudsman work, and preparing for regular team meetings and workplace meetings. The work also includes systematic work with both Senior Alert and the BPSD register. You administer medications and certain other interventions on delegation from a nurse, carry out certain rehabilitation measures on delegation from an occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and provide ongoing verbal and written handover reports and evaluate operations together with colleagues, unit managers, and nurses. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with experience working in dementia care. It is an advantage to have specialist training as a nursing assistant in dementia and/or experience working with the BPSD register. We value personal maturity and place great importance on personal suitability. You are a calm and confident person with an empathetic approach that permeates everything in your work. In your work, you adopt a health-promoting approach, which means you look at what is healthy and the possibilities and resources that exist in each citizen. You have strong commitment and interest in the citizen and their life history. In this way, you also build good relationships with those you care for in your work. Since the work involves contact with citizens, family members, and colleagues, and includes documentation, we expect you to have very good knowledge of Swedish in speech, reading comprehension, and writing. You should be able to actively participate in training/information at workplace meetings and be able to absorb information both verbally and in writing. You need to have very good computer skills as we work both with a mobile work approach and at computers in the office. We have five units for people with dementia and one short-term unit with a somatic focus and one palliative guaranteed place. Good to Know We are seeking 1 permanent position at 100% employment, with start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts on both weekdays and weekends, as well as every other weekend.
