JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education teacher, you will be an important part of the school's collective effort to increase student achievement. You work at the individual, group, and organizational levels and collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, other student support professionals, and the principal. Your duties include: • Assess and monitor students' academic development, particularly in reading, writing, and mathematics • Analyze screenings, assessment tools, and other results together with student support staff and teaching teachers • Plan, implement, and follow up on targeted support measures/accommodations and specialized support • Provide specialized instruction individually and in small groups when appropriate • Coach and serve as a discussion partner for teachers • Participate in implementing accommodations, specialized support, pedagogical evaluations, and intervention plans • Actively contribute to the school's student support work and systematic quality improvement We want to see (validated) that you: • Have strong competence in reading, writing, and language development • Have competence and experience in mathematics instruction and addressing mathematics difficulties • Can use assessments and results as the basis for pedagogical analysis • Can translate analysis into concrete instructional interventions • Work in a structured and systematic way with follow-up • Have the ability to coach and build trusting professional relationships • View collaboration with teachers as a central part of the special education teacher role • Share our values in accordance with the Curriculum and the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child as law Goals, purpose, and desired outcomes of the position Goal To contribute to more students developing strong knowledge in reading, writing, and mathematics and reaching as far as possible in their academic development through qualified special education interventions and instructional improvement. Purpose To identify needs early, implement appropriate interventions, and strengthen teachers' and the organization's capacity to meet students' diverse needs. Desired Outcome More students succeed in mainstream instruction, support is provided earlier and more effectively, and implemented interventions lead to measurable progress in student learning and increased achievement. QUALIFICATIONS You are a certified elementary school teacher with a special education teacher degree, specialized in language, writing, and reading development and with strong competence in mathematics and mathematics difficulties. You have excellent command of Swedish in both writing and speech. Employment type: Permanent position. Duration: Start date: 2026-10-05. If you are offered employment within the Children and Education Administration, you are required by law to provide a clean criminal record certificate from the Swedish Police.
