Description The Adult Services Division is one of three divisions within the Employment and Social Services Administration. We work with individuals over 18 years old who have a mental health disability and/or harmful substance use/addiction. We have different types of operations spread geographically across Karlstad Municipality. Residential facilities with different orientations, read more below about the different orientations. The work involves irregular working hours and is conducted during day, evening, and night shifts, Monday through Sunday. It includes social documentation as well as delegated health and care tasks. Schedules vary between units; some units do not have night shifts. Job duties within our residential facilities and residential support vary. Residential Facility with Special Services in Social Psychiatry Specialized residential care in social psychiatry serves adults with long-term mental health disabilities who have significant support needs in their daily lives. We focus on the equal value of each person and recognize the individual's abilities while respecting each person's integrity and self-determination. Our residential facilities look different depending on location and setting, but in all facilities, residents have their own apartments with access to common areas where they can socialize. We believe that animals make a big difference for everyone. Pets can therefore be present in some facilities as an environmental therapeutic element in our work to enhance the user's well-being and quality of life. Job duties include providing a supportive, stimulating, and motivating approach to assist users with what they need help with in their daily lives, which may include care work, assistance with showering/personal hygiene, etc. You will participate in planning and delivering qualified and individually tailored support with the user's perspective and needs in focus. You will also perform certain health and care tasks delegated by nurses. The services we provide must maintain high quality based on the user's own choices and priorities. We want to enable users to have a good daily life and live a life like anyone else. Residential Facility with Special Services/Category Housing for Harmful Substance Use and Addiction The operation offers secure residential facilities with the aim of achieving improved quality of life by reducing the consequences of substance abuse/addiction. Support is individually tailored to help the individual establish a functional daily life. The operation collaborates with various internal and external partners. Job duties consist of, among other things, providing individually tailored support ranging from cleaning, hygiene, cooking, support with daily structure, conversations, and care work. The work is person-centered and uses implementation plans, and you are responsible for ensuring they are followed. Work at the facility requires staff members' ability to create good relationships with residents and provide individualized support. It presupposes good readiness to handle difficult and complex situations while maintaining strong confidence in people's capacity for change and development. Residential Support Unit We work in a relationship-building, motivating, and supportive manner with our target groups in social psychiatry and harmful substance use and addiction. Residential support is tailored to the individual's situation and needs, with the individual actively participating in their planning, which results in an implementation plan. You work to support the user/client in maintaining their abilities and therefore work together with, rather than compensating for, the person as a first priority. Residential support is primarily provided in the individual's own home but can also be provided outside the home. The basis for support is the user/client's needs, so participation in planning and designing the intervention is central. Job duties can include, among other things, contact with authorities, structure in daily life, breaking isolation, and motivational work. You will also perform certain health and care tasks delegated by nurses. The goal of the operation is to create an improved life situation that leads to as independent a life as possible based on the individual's own circumstances. Qualifications We would like you to have upper secondary education, for example in a care program with a focus on psychiatry, treatment pedagogy/assistant, or be studying to become a social worker, psychologist, or other profession within the social sector. Experience with documentation and working within the social sector is considered an advantage. You will be working with people in vulnerable life situations, which requires personal suitability in meeting, treating, and communicating with others. We are looking for someone who can independently plan and structure their work. You are a calm, confident, and caring person who can handle varied situations with an adapted approach. A Class B driver's license is required for the Residential Support unit and an advantage for residential operations. Our approximately 700 employees work with substance abuse care, financial assistance, budget and debt counseling, and family law matters.
