About the Company GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with engine components together form Engines, and at the facility in Trollhättan, advanced components are developed and manufactured for engines for aircraft and space rockets. They also work with engine maintenance. About the Role You will work with strength analysis on military engines and engine components as well as space components using both commercial and proprietary tools. At GKN, you will work with everything from concept analyses for future military engine systems and space components to maintenance issues for today's aircraft and space engines. Additionally, GKN Aerospace continuously develops its methods, technologies, and tools, where you can make an important contribution. As a computational engineer, you will work in cross-functional teams where you have the knowledge and responsibility for mechanical life and strength. Responsibilities Perform, document, and present life and strength analyses of engine systems as well as engine and space components. Dimension and verify components using FE analysis, such as stability & strength, fatigue, crack initiation & propagation, dynamic analyses, using commercial software (ANSYS) and proprietary tools. Develop GKN's analysis methods and technologies and develop and implement Matlab & Python scripts to continuously improve their analysis processes. Contribute to the development of GKN as a "Great Place to Work" in line with GKN's cultural principles. Your Profile Master's degree in aeronautics, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, or other relevant engineering education with a focus on strength. Several years of professional experience in strength analysis from relevant industry and/or academia. Good knowledge and experience with the tools ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical (APDL). Swedish and English, spoken and written. Meritorious Good knowledge of programming and scripting (Matlab, Python, etc.). Good knowledge of the NASGRO tool. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
