Your Role As a senior Java developer, you will work on the further development and maintenance of a Java-based HMI with a focus on Java Swing. The first version is already in place, and now awaits the next phase with continued development, new integrations, and handling of bug reports. You step in with your experience and become a key player in ensuring quality, stability, and continued development over time. You have overall responsibility for the software, from design decisions and architecture to implementation and improvement of the user interface. With a clear UX focus, you contribute to building an interface that is intuitive, efficient, and tailored to user needs. Work takes place in an established Scrum team where you plan in sprints, collaborate closely, and regularly demonstrate your work in demos. You are expected to take a senior role in the team, provide technical guidance, support colleagues, and be a driving force in both technical discussions and long-term strategic decisions. Your Profile You are an experienced Java developer who thrives in an expert role and finds it easy to understand complex systems. You have worked with Java Swing before and feel confident further developing, improving, and maintaining both new and existing code, even in legacy environments. Colleagues experience you as an obvious knowledge resource who enjoys sharing your experience and coaching more junior developers. You combine technical excellence with a genuine interest in user-friendliness and see the value of good UX even in technically advanced systems. We see that you have: Several years of Java development experience (senior level, approximately 5 years or more) Practical experience with Java Swing (not necessarily for 5 years, but in production environments) Ability to make well-founded design and architecture decisions A clear UX focus and interest in building user-friendly interfaces Ability to work independently and at the same time be a strong team player Meritorious is experience in, for example, database programming or work in technically complex system environments. The position requires that you undergo and be approved in accordance with applicable security regulations at any given time.
