ABOUT US
St. John's Church is a meeting place where community, food, and conversation are central concepts. In addition to the church sanctuary, there is a café and a self-help center for various support groups, such as AA and NA. We are open seven days a week with 150-200 visitors daily.
Our church is a hub for many people with different support needs—everyone is welcome!

ABOUT THE POSITION
You work to build relationships and reach out by getting to know the church's visitors, showing care, and treating everyone equally. You work with the individual's needs in focus, both short and long term, based on what the visitor asks for help with. At the same time, you work to motivate the individual toward change and to increase their sense of empowerment and feeling of belonging. You want to contribute to ensuring that our dynamic activities continue to develop in a positive direction into the future.
You are accustomed to conducting structured conversations and documenting them. You also fill in statistics that help us monitor how society is doing and what we observe, what we do, and what we might need to do more of.
You also work to refer visitors to City Mission's other activities, government agencies, or organizations so that the visitor receives the right professional help based on their own needs.
Your tasks also include staffing the church café, which involves serving, handling the cash register, washing dishes, and cleaning.

WHO ARE YOU?
Requirements:
You have at least one year of post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant.
You have several years of experience working with people living in vulnerable situations, for example mental health issues and/or substance abuse problems.
Merits:

If you have language skills beyond Swedish and English
Driver's license (Category B)
As an employee at St. John's Church, we require that you have excellent collaboration skills. As a person, you are attentive and solution-oriented. Furthermore, it is required that you are flexible and unpretentious.
An extract from the suspicion and criminal record register is a requirement before employment can be offered.
