Description We are seeking a social worker for the Adult Services Unit as one of our employees is taking parental leave. At the Adult Services Unit, you will have the opportunity to work with people in difficult life situations and be part of their path toward change. We work with adults who need support around harmful substance use and addiction as well as violence in close relationships. We also handle matters regarding financial assistance and social contracts, which makes the work both broad and meaningful. We have organized the work within the Adult Services Unit into different functions to create clarity and coordination. There is an intake function that handles new cases for the entire unit, administration of financial assistance with a particular focus on coordination, and financial assistance with some coordination. We also have specialized roles within violence in close relationships and work with adults living with harmful substance use. At the moment, it is not determined in which area you will work; this will be decided based on the service's needs and your competence. Regardless of placement, you will be an important part of our team and contribute to providing people with support and guidance in vulnerable life situations. Work Tasks As a social worker at the Adult Services Unit, you will have a varied and developmental assignment where you meet people with respect, attentiveness, and engagement. You will work with investigations and decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Care for Drug Abusers (LVM) and follow up on interventions. You collaborate closely with other municipal services, such as the municipality's job placement unit, Säffle Learning Center's Adult Education, Open Mental Health Care, the Children and Youth Unit, healthcare providers, psychiatry, and addiction care. You have close contact with clients, where you offer support, guidance, and motivational work. You are an important part in creating security and stability, both through conversational support and through concrete interventions. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a social worker or has other academic education that the employer deems equivalent and who also has a genuine interest in people. You are confident in your professional role, find it easy to collaborate and communicate, and enjoy working both independently and in a team. If you have experience with government authority work in the adult sector, that is a plus, but the most important thing is that you have the right attitude and willingness to make a difference.
