Social Worker - Adult Services

Job Responsibilities As a social worker in the adult services unit, you will work with administrative authority for adults and meet people in different life situations with need for support and services. You will have a broad assignment where you work together with the individual to find paths toward increased independence and a more sustainable life situation. The adult unit's work encompasses harmful substance use and addiction, social contracts, and intimate partner violence. As a social worker, you work within all of the unit's responsibility areas, with a special focus on intimate partner violence where you investigate, assess, and follow up on needs for support and protection. You are independently responsible for your cases and work through the entire process – from investigation and assessment to decision, planning, and follow-up of services. The work involves both long-term change work and situations that require quick and professional assessments. You have close contact with the individual and collaborate with other actors, both within social services and with external partners. We work based on a Motivational Interviewing-inspired approach where we see the individual's resources and possibilities, while being clear about rights, obligations, and the requirements that follow from granted services. The role includes, among other things: - Investigating, assessing, deciding on, and following up on services according to the Social Services Act - Investigating and following up on needs for support and services for people exposed to intimate partner violence as well as people who exercise violence - Conducting safety planning and assessing needs for acute services such as protective placements - Using assessment methods such as ASI and FREDA as support in investigation work - Working with housing-related social issues and support toward more independent living - Handling assessments related to LVM - Providing information and guidance to the individual - Collaborating with internal and external partners About the Workplace The Social Administration's main mission is to offer individually adapted support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and families, adults, and economic assistance. The Social Administration in Nynäshamn Municipality works to provide support and services to residents throughout different stages of life. The Economic Assistance and Adults unit consists of two work groups: economic assistance and adult services. The adult services unit consists of six social workers who work with a broad assignment within the adult field. We meet people with needs for support related to harmful substance use and addiction, social contracts, intimate partner violence, violence perpetration, exit from criminal environments, as well as people exposed to human trafficking, prostitution, and other forms of vulnerability. We are a smaller work group where we value collaboration, commitment, and an open climate. Here you have the opportunity to discuss cases, share experiences, and develop together. What We're Looking For in You We are looking for you who want to work with administrative authority for adults and who have a genuine interest in people in vulnerable life situations. To succeed in the role, you have: - A degree in social work - Experience with administrative authority within the adult field, preferably with experience in intimate partner violence, harmful substance use and addiction, or social contracts - Experience with documentation and work in activity systems It is advantageous if you have: - Experience with administrative authority in multiple adult areas - Experience working with intimate partner violence and safety assessments - Experience with ASI and work with harmful substance use and addiction - Experience with LVM - Experience with social contracts and housing-related social issues - Knowledge of FREDA assessment methods - Good knowledge of the Social Services Act - A class B driver's license Personal Qualities We're Looking For You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to create trusting relationships while being clear in your administrative authority.
