The Adult Services Department in Österåkers municipality is developing its preventive and open work for adults. We want to be a social service that is easily accessible, present, and offers support before problems grow. In fall 2026, we are therefore launching a new unit. The new unit within the Adult Services Department will bring together open, preventive and outreach efforts for adults. This includes, among other things, specialists in addiction treatment and intimate partner violence, personal advocates, housing support workers, budget and debt counseling, eviction prevention work and housing coaching. Your new job We are looking for an employee who wants to help build and develop the work at our new unit for open, preventive and outreach efforts. You will: work preventively and conduct outreach with adult residents provide counseling, guidance and information on social issues inform about the municipality's support and other community resources guide residents to the right activity, authority or support measure identify support needs at an early stage plan and implement information initiatives in various arenas in the municipality cooperate with authorities, healthcare, associations, landlords and other actors contribute to the development of the department's preventive and outreach work Eviction Prevention Work A central part of the position is eviction prevention work. You work to detect early and support people at risk of losing their housing. The work includes, among other things: receiving and following up on signals of eviction risk establishing contact with affected persons providing advice and guidance regarding housing situations coordinating contacts with relevant actors cooperating with landlords and other partners working preventively to reduce the risk of eviction and homelessness The goal is to prevent homelessness and strengthen individuals' ability to keep their housing. Your profile We are looking for you who are a social worker or have other education that the employer deems equivalent. You are a confident and engaged person who enjoys meeting people and building trusting relationships. You work independently, take initiative and see opportunities to reach people who might not otherwise seek support. You are attentive and have a pedagogical approach and can explain complex information in a simple way. At the same time, you are organized and find it easy to collaborate with both colleagues and external actors. Since the unit is under development, you thrive in a changing environment and want to be part of developing new ways of working. You have experience in social work and an interest in preventive and outreach efforts. You have good knowledge of the social services' mandate and good familiarity with society's support systems. Scope of employment Full-time Employment terms For this role, the starting salary is normally between 33,000 kr – 45,000 kr depending on experience and competence.
