Ref: 20262059 We are now recruiting a staff member for Crisis Center Housing Heder. Crisis Center Housing Heder is an HVB (home for care or housing) for young people with legal gender female, ages 14–22, who are victims of honor-related violence and oppression or intimate partner violence and have protection needs. All placements are preceded by contact with social services and can occur either as planned or emergency placements, 24 hours a day. Staff assist in assessing protection needs. Job Responsibilities As a social worker on night shifts, you work in a team of five colleagues with a rotating schedule. Work shifts are scheduled either from 4:00 PM–3:00 AM (followed by on-call availability until 7:00 AM) or between 8:00/8:30 PM–7:15 AM. During parts of the night, you work together on-site. Between 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM, one social worker works alone in the facility but always has access to an on-call colleague reachable by phone and available to come on-site if needed. Additionally, a manager is available on-call for support and guidance. During the night, you primarily engage in informational and supportive conversations, on-call phone conversations, documentation, and collaboration with Social On-Call Services. The work also includes practical tasks in the housing facility and calming activities for children and young adults in the evenings. It is important that night staff encourage the placed youth to go to bed at a reasonable time, as sleep is often crucial for their wellbeing. It is also important to have good understanding of crisis and trauma. Qualifications We seek someone with a degree in social work or equivalent higher education degree in social work (180 credits) or a vocational education (YH) degree (400 yh credits) as a social pedagogue, plus at least two years of current experience in relevant social work. We also want you to have previously worked with cases involving honor-related violence and oppression and intimate partner violence. You have good communication skills and the ability to quickly build positive relationships with others. Furthermore, you should be able to plan work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You have strong drive, are responsive, and adapt easily to changing circumstances. Given the nature of the operations, it is very important that you communicate clearly, are confident in yourself, and have the ability to build trust. You should be able to make quick and clear decisions that may involve difficult choices. You should be able to take initiative, act with confidence, and work independently. It is important that you contribute to the work team and understand the value of being a team player. You should have the ability to listen, consult with colleagues/managers, and communicate proactively. You will work with young people and young adults in a collective setting where you as a staff member are expected to handle the placed individuals both individually and as a group. It is meritious if you have knowledge in conflict management. It is very important that you show respect for other group members' (both colleagues and placed individuals) opinions and contributions. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you speak other languages, this is meritious. A driver's license for manual transmission is desirable but not required. About the Workplace The work team at Housing Heder consists of 12 staff members, including one coordinator working daytime, six staff working day/evening shifts, and five working evening/night shifts. The facility is one of several operations within the Crisis Center unit, which is part of the Employment and Social Services Administration.
