Job Duties As a newly hired social secretary in the foster care group (child secretary), you participate in the unit's introduction program and are assigned a mentor who will help you into the work based on your personal conditions. We are part of the Professional Journey initiative. You also have check-ins and case supervision with your manager, adapted to your needs, as well as external supervision with the work group. You collaborate with internal and external partners and actively participate in the unit's quality and development work. In addition, the following work duties are included in the role: Long-term contacts - you follow the children/youth in foster care, often involving longer relationships, relationship building, and guidance. Maintain the three-part parenthood - foster family, biological parents, and social services collaborate around the child. School/network - responsibility for monitoring schooling, participating in school meetings, maintaining contact with biological networks, and planning visits. Follow-up/review - together with the foster care secretaries, you follow up, document, and review placements and other decisions. You have the opportunity to work remotely to some extent. About the Workplace The Social Administration's main mission is to provide individually adapted support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and families, adults, and financial assistance. We are present for community residents through all stages of life. The Children and Youth Unit (ages 0-20) consists of approximately 30 employees divided into two groups: the investigation group and the foster care group. The unit is led by a unit manager and three group managers. The foster care group handles foster care placements and consists of child secretaries and foster care secretaries. We are now seeking a social secretary (child secretary) for the foster care group to support children and young people placed in foster care. An additional position may be filled if necessary decisions are made. The foster care group consists of experienced social workers with varying professional backgrounds. We especially value a sense of belonging, learning from one another, and a supportive climate. We work together across the unit on methods and development issues. We also have close cooperation with the investigation group, our own support housing, open care services, and youth addiction treatment services, etc. A new digital addition to the unit is a voice-to-text tool powered by AI—a way to truly save time on documentation!
