You'll become part of a great team of nine social secretaries, a team leader, and a unit manager, who together work to develop new approaches within the framework of the new Social Services Act. You can watch a short film about what it's like to work with us here: Work at Hässelby-Vällingby District Administration Your role With us, you'll get a broad and valuable foundation to stand on – whether you've just graduated or already have work experience within social services, for example in financial assistance. You'll become a key person in meeting people seeking financial assistance or support with addiction and harmful use, and the work gives you the opportunity to deepen and broaden your expertise in several important areas: Phone interviews with residents seeking support benefits Receiving and handling reports of concern Guidance to appropriate support and interventions Home visits and financial investigations Motivational conversations with adults with addiction problems/harmful use Decision-making based on current legislation Written documentation and case management You'll have your own mentor and a customized introduction – a safe start if you're new to the profession, and an opportunity to quickly join the team if you already have experience. We actively work on the transition to the new Social Services Act (new SoL) and have a clear vision: social services should be easily accessible, knowledge-based, and work more preventatively. You'll be an important part of this development journey and get the opportunity to influence how we move forward. On the unit there are also two other teams you'll work closely with: a team working with budget and debt counseling, and a team focused on eviction prevention work. Together, the three teams contribute to broad and comprehensive support for the district's residents. Your competence and experience Requirements: Social Work Degree Meritorious: Experience with public authority work Experience with the Paraplyet documentation system Training in MI - motivational interviewing We welcome applicants at different stages of their careers – both those wanting to gain your first good experiences within social services, financial assistance, and work with adults in harmful use, and those who already have experience from similar work and want to continue developing with us. You are self-driven and can plan and advance your work on your own, while also being flexible and quickly able to adjust when conditions change or new situations arise. You are stable and maintain calm and perspective even in stressful or emotionally demanding situations, and you work in a structured way by planning, prioritizing, and systematically following up your cases so that nothing falls through the cracks. You have good ability to document in writing in a clear and legally secure manner, and you communicate clearly verbally both with clients/users and colleagues. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to a good work climate by listening to others and collaborating across boundaries in the operation. Your empathetic ability means that you meet people with respect, attentiveness, and understanding of their situation, while maintaining a professional stance and being able to set clear boundaries when needed.
