Job Responsibilities
The Center for Crime Victims and Mediation provides support, crisis management, and processing for crime victims, their family members, and witnesses. Conversations are conducted in accordance with a solution-focused approach. You will have conversations both individually and sometimes together with family members. The Center for Crime Victims and Mediation is part of Malmö City's crisis organization. The position includes substantial collaboration both internally and externally. Business development is an integral part of the work.
Approximately one day every other week, you will work as a crisis support counselor during daytime hours, which means you work within Malmö City's crisis support organization and may be activated during major events affecting the public. On these days, you need to work in the office 08-16.30. On other days, you work with the possibility of flexible hours and remote work if the work allows.
The Center for Crime Victims and Mediation also conducts mediation work between perpetrators and crime victims, but this task is not included in this position.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and several years of experience in conversation and treatment. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
We consider the following as merits for the position:
Experience and knowledge of crisis and trauma in supportive conversations
Training in and experience with work on intimate partner violence
Training/knowledge of solution-focused conversation methodology
Experience and knowledge of children, young people, and adults as crime victims
Experience and knowledge of risk and protective factors
Experience and knowledge of the justice system
Experience handling major crises involving many people
As a person, we see that you are secure, stable, and have a good capacity for self-reflection. You feel comfortable having conversations with both young people and adults and have an easy time collaborating both internally and externally. The position involves a great deal of teamwork, and therefore high demands are placed on collaboration skills.
In your work, you will meet people with different experiences and backgrounds. It is therefore important that you are receptive and can listen to the person you meet to create good contact.
It is also important that you are flexible in your work and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. The work requires the ability to work independently and the capacity to focus on the right things and maintain a realistic perspective even at a high pace.
