About the Job
We are now hiring a social worker for Children and Youth 1 in the Social Services Department Northeast. You will work with investigations and follow-ups regarding children's and young people's needs for protection and support according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act. You will work closely with children, youth, and their families as well as in close collaboration with colleagues and external partners. The role often involves complex issues such as vulnerability, criminality, norm-breaking behavior, and honor-related matters. The work is demanding but meaningful and requires high standards of professionalism, sound judgment, and lawful case management. The child's rights, participation, and best interests are always the starting point in our work.
For us, it is important to perform high-quality social work, and we therefore use service measurements and phase systems which provide the conditions for reasonable workloads and recovery. This combined with regular supervision and training provides good conditions for performing the work with good results for those we serve. We work with several evidence-based methods such as Signs of Safety, EARL, SAVRY, and ERASOR. Training is provided continuously and is linked to our competency development plan.
We ensure that whoever joins us receives an introduction that, regardless of experience in the profession, provides you with the conditions to perform your work in accordance with applicable legislation, procedures, and guidelines at the workplace. The introduction is conducted by an introduction coordinator in the department in collaboration with the senior social worker and unit manager.
The unit is part of development and community work related to the transition to new social services legislation. We work with approaches such as the Right Curve and other development initiatives that strengthen early, preventive, and more accessible social work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a degree in social work, as this is a requirement for the position. Experience in authority work and particularly experience in authority work within children and youth is a merit. Since we work using the Signs of Safety method, training and knowledge in this method is also a merit. It is a merit if you have a category B driving license.
We are looking for you to take responsibility for your own and shared work tasks with the operation's/clients' best interests in focus. You take your tasks seriously, complete what you start, and ensure that work is performed correctly. You are communicative and have the ability to share information and ideas, both orally and in writing, and can express the core of an argument clearly and effectively. Furthermore, you adapt your communication to the recipient, target audience, and situation.
As a social worker, you are guided by the equal value of all people, have good conduct that is evident through showing respect and consideration to those you meet, and maintain an open and positive attitude with the client's needs as the starting point for your actions. Much of our work is based on documentation and this requires you to work in a structured manner.
As a social worker, you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and reach goals, as the work is largely based on collaboration within and outside the unit. You understand the shared mission, act based on it, and contribute to the whole.
