Together we provide care and support to residents who need it for various reasons. Our services include special housing, social services, home care, personal assistance, and family support. We focus on the individual and provide respectful treatment. We listen to the wishes of those we serve and their families. Within Children and Youth, we work to ensure that children, young people, and their families receive the right support at the right time. We offer easily accessible support and work preventively to identify needs early. The best interests of the child and their participation are central to our work. Together we create security and good conditions for children and young people's development and wellbeing. Our Organization Two Senior Social Secretaries distribute cases and provide close work and methodological supervision individually and in groups with high availability. Three Social Secretaries work at the intake desk and receive all incoming applications and reports. They conduct safety assessments and preliminary assessments. Seven Social Secretaries (investigators) investigate the child's need for possible support and assistance. Three Social Secretaries (child secretaries) follow up on children placed in foster care. The Work Involves We are now looking for two engaged and competent Social Secretaries who want to strengthen our team at the Children and Youth Authority. Your main tasks will consist of either investigation work or intake desk duties. The Social Secretary profession is meaningful work where you make a difference for children and young people by investigating needs, assessing risks, and creating conditions for appropriate support. The work is varied and constantly evolving. You will receive introduction through guidance and support from a Senior Social Secretary. At the unit, you will participate in the Professional Journey for Children and Youth. Who Are You? You are confident, engaged, and structured with the best interests of the child in focus. You have good collaboration skills, are clear in your communication, and are comfortable handling both independent work and complex situations. Through collaboration, innovative thinking, and a strong service focus, you want to help develop Skara Municipality into a better city to live, work, and thrive in. Qualifications Sociology degree or education equivalent to the requirements in the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on competence to handle children and youth matters Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing Class B driver's license We place great emphasis on your personal suitability Additional Information and Benefits We work based on Signs of Safety as a common approach, with basic training completed in 2024 and the method now being implemented throughout the organization. We conduct workload measurement for workplace safety purposes. All Social Secretaries receive external supervision. Skara Municipality has a well-developed open care system within child and youth social services. The Children and Youth Unit, Resources, consists of 10 family counselors and 3 foster care secretaries. The positions are permanent full-time with start date immediately by agreement.
