Your Work Tasks
As a Social Worker - LSS in the Children and Youth Department, your main responsibility is investigation work and follow-up of services with decisions according to social legislation (SoL, LSS, and LVU) for children and youth (0-20 years). Within the team, we share collective responsibility for cases that need to be distributed. This working method gives us good opportunities to maintain high quality in our work, develop our methods, and collaborate with the user in focus.
The work also includes information and counseling, as well as motivational work (MI). Collaboration internally within the administration and externally with other relevant parties such as schools, service providers, and health and medical care are also part of the work tasks. As a social worker, you work based on the goals set by the Social and Care Committee. The Committee's operations shall be characterized by professional conduct and good accessibility. Authority functions shall be exercised with legal security and efficiency.
You will meet children, youth, and families in vulnerable situations, where no two days are alike. It is challenging, rewarding, and important work where you get a chance to make a difference. As support in your work, there are mentors, senior social workers, case-group supervision, guidance, administrative support, and support from the unit manager.
Your Workplace
The Children and Youth Department consists of four Investigation and Follow-up Units, a Recruitment and Matching Unit, and reinforced open care and youth housing. The purpose of this organization is, among other things, to increase our holistic perspective and develop our collaboration from a user perspective. The four investigation and follow-up groups are divided into smaller teams with daily supervision in the form of senior social workers.
The Social and Care Administration in Linköping applies BBIC (Child's Needs in Focus) and IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus) in investigation work. We work from a systems theory perspective and a holistic family perspective. Our goal is to meet each individual's needs at their level, where trust, participation, and collaboration are important.
We who work at Unit 1 for Children and Youth currently consist of 27 social workers and three senior social workers. The LSS team will consist of 5 social workers and 1 senior social worker from the fall. The workplace is located in newly renovated premises in central Linköping at Drottninggatan 45. It is an activity-based workplace with working hours Monday to Friday 07:50-17:00 with flexible time arrangements. Remote work is possible by agreement when deemed appropriate based on operational needs and personal circumstances.
About You
We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work or a bachelor's degree in behavioral science with courses in social work, social law, administrative law, and psychology. You also have experience with investigation work at a public authority and good knowledge of social legislation and LSS. It is meritorious to have experience with authority functions regarding investigation and follow-up work according to LSS and/or social psychiatry, as well as with children and youth. If you have previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or with issues related to disabilities, we consider that meritorious.
Since the work involves internal and external contacts with associated documentation, it is a requirement that you express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. A B-category driving license is required as travel is part of the job. If you have knowledge of different conversation methods, we consider that meritorious.

You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize in your work to set and adhere to time frames. Furthermore, you have the ability to remain calm and stable in stressful situations.
