Ref: 20261668 Job Responsibilities Are you a social worker with experience and a desire to work with young people? Welcome to Platform Malmö! We work with young adults, adolescents and their parents, crime victims, and individuals who wish to leave crime and harmful substance use/addiction. Now there is an opportunity to work for one year in the Social Worker section at Police and Youth Services. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to implement Youth Service sentences. Youth Service can be imposed instead of fines or other penalties for young offenders between 15 and 21 years old. Youth Service is a sanction consisting of both unpaid work and counseling sessions with a social worker at Youth Services. The reflective conversations are individual sessions that give the young person an opportunity to reflect on their situation and the crime(s) for which they have been convicted. Youth Service aims to prevent crime. Therefore, the conversations largely focus on discussing methods to avoid criminal activity. In your work, you coordinate and implement the sentence imposed by the District Court as an alternative to fines or shorter imprisonment. We have close collaboration with a number of workplaces, and you will therefore be in contact with our committed supervisors. You will also work on finding new supervisors. The assignment also includes work with the police, where your main responsibility is to collaborate between social services and police. This means that as a social worker, you will be present during interrogations with minors under 18 years old and conduct conversations with the young person and their parents after interrogations. The work also includes meeting detained youth in custody each week. The purpose is to quickly understand the young person's needs and promptly convey this information to social services. You also have administrative responsibilities including staffing the shared phone, attending certain regular police meetings, forwarding incoming information to relevant parties, and planning for the activities. Organizational development is an integral part of the work, and Lean is used as a tool for this. Documentation in Lifecare and Journal Digital are also part of your responsibilities. You will become part of an engaged team consisting of four colleagues with similar assignments and areas of responsibility. Together, you work closely and support each other in daily work. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in authority work within children and family services with a focus on adolescents. We also want you to have excellent ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish. The following are considered merits for the position: Education in Crime as a Lifestyle Experience in conversations with both young people and adults, preferably from a solution-focused perspective Knowledge of LUL (Act with Special Provisions on Young Offenders) Knowledge of crime, drugs, and victimization Experience and knowledge of risk and protective factors Experience and knowledge of the justice system Experience working with Procapita/Lifecare or Journal Digital Driver's license and driving experience with a manual transmission vehicle As a person, we see that you are secure, stable, and have good self-insight. You feel comfortable having conversations with adolescents, young adults, and adults alike, and you work well both internally and externally. The position involves considerable teamwork, and therefore high demands are placed on collaboration skills. To thrive in this role, it is important that you are self-directed and can plan, organize, and drive your work independently. In your work, you will meet people with different experiences and backgrounds. It is therefore important that you are attentive and can listen carefully to the person you meet in order to build good rapport. It is also important that you can easily adapt to changing circumstances and can focus on the right things while maintaining a realistic perspective even at a fast pace.
