WORK TASKS
As a social secretary at the Joint Reception, you and your colleagues will be the link between the municipality's residents and social services. Your work includes receiving, sorting, prioritizing, and assessing incoming information, and then forwarding it for services without individual needs assessment or investigation. Over time, the Joint Reception will handle cases regarding children and young people, family law, and adults, which means great variety and breadth in your daily work. The Joint Reception receives applications, reports, inquiries, and information in other ways directly from the municipality's residents as well as from authorities and other cooperation partners. It is your and your colleagues' task to receive these and make an initial assessment. Together with your colleagues, you also have the responsibility of being social services' face and spokesperson externally to provide information about social services' work and mission.
The Joint Reception was established in May 2025 and has gradually taken over the reception function for various target groups. Previously, the target groups children and young people, family law, and eviction prevention function were included in the Joint Reception, and next in line is the adult target group. We are now seeking you who have experience in authority administration within harmful substance use, domestic violence, homelessness, and criminality to complement our current team based on the upcoming area of responsibility.
The work group currently consists of six case handlers, one senior social secretary, and a unit manager who also has responsibility for an additional work group. One of the case handlers in the work group has specific responsibility for eviction prevention work; the remaining case handlers work with all tasks included in the assignment. The work group is currently a mixed group in relation to previous experience, age, and gender.
