Individual and Family Services is part of the Social and Education Administration in Ludvika Municipality. We have approximately 120 employees and, as of September 1, 2026, are organized into four units: the Support and Provision Unit, the Open Care Unit, the Children and Youth Unit, and the Labor Market and Integration Unit. The Workplace As of September 1, 2026, the Support and Provision Unit consists of 26 dedicated and knowledgeable employees. The unit has a broad mandate and works with, among other things, economic assistance, domestic violence and honor-related violence and oppression, residential social contracts, personal funds administration, social practice, incorrect payments, probate notifications, and harmful use and addiction. Work Duties As a social worker in economic assistance, you will have meaningful and varied work where you make a difference for people in different life situations. The position combines administrative authority with close and motivating work alongside the individual. You will have the opportunity to follow an individual's progress toward increased social and economic independence while developing within social work and administrative authority. In your role as a social worker for economic assistance, you will, among other things: Map and investigate the individual's situation and need for support. Work motivationally and supportively to help people achieve social and economic independence. Investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding the right to economic assistance based on applicable legislation, guidelines, and legal precedent. Cooperate with other actors, both within the municipality and with external partners, to create conditions for the individual's path toward independence. Qualifications Requirements We are seeking someone who has: A degree in social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A B driver's license, as travel is part of the position. Merits It is meritorious if you have: Experience with administrative authority in economic assistance Training and experience in Motivational Interviewing (MI) Experience working in the Lifecare management system Personal Qualities The work duties require high standards of personal responsibility, flexibility, and initiative.
