In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by making children and young people central to the municipal organization. Most resources directed toward children and young people have been consolidated under one and the same committee. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and individual and family care. Common to all operations is a conscious quality effort to continuously develop and improve our work with children and young people. Our workplace and the exciting journey ahead Individual and Family Care (IFO) in Ludvika has approximately 120 fantastic employees. To meet the demands of the outside world and at the same time create an even better and more sustainable work environment, we are now undergoing an exciting reorganization. From September onward, we are bringing together the entire child welfare side into one unified and strong unit. We are now looking for two new team members who want to be part of our team and help develop our work for children, young people, and their families. The new Unit for Children and Youth brings together functions for intake, investigation work, support services, placed children, and family law. Our strength lies in short decision-making pathways, close proximity to one another, and a culture where we collaborate with the client's best interests in focus. As a social worker with us, you will become part of the Unit for Children and Youth, where we work with public authority functions and services for children, young people, and their families. With us, collaboration and community are central. We believe in the strength of good team spirit where we support each other, share knowledge, and together develop our working methods to best meet the needs of children and young people. Job Responsibilities As a social worker, you will work to follow up on and ensure that placed children and young people receive the support and care they need. A large part of the position involves following up on children and young people who are placed in family homes, residential care facilities (HVB-hem), or secure institutions (SiS) according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or Care of Young Persons (LVU). An important part of your assignment is to create a safe and trusting relationship with the child or young person in order to understand their situation, meet their needs, and ensure that the placement works as well as possible. Your main job responsibilities include: Following up on the care of placed children and young people and ensuring that their needs are met. Creating and maintaining good relationships with children or young people through continuous conversations and follow-ups. Investigating and following up on parents' capacity and the child's opportunities for safe reunification with their family. Planning and coordinating support services, including family treatment, to enable return home when possible and in the child's best interest. Investigating whether change of custody is the best long-term solution for children who have been placed for an extended period. Collaborating with family homes, residential care facilities, secure institutions, custodians, schools, healthcare, and other important actors around the child. Some of our placed children and young people are placed outside the municipality, which means that travel is part of the position. There may be longer trips that involve extended working days and, in some cases, overnight stays. What we think you will appreciate about us: Being part of a workplace where team spirit, collaboration, and community characterize the daily work. Working in an organization where your commitment makes a difference for children, young people, and families. Having the opportunity to influence and develop working methods together with engaged colleagues. Working in a learning organization where we share experiences, support each other, and develop together. Having access to continuous professional development through Yrkesresan, which provides a clear structure for learning and development in your professional role. Qualifications Requirements We are looking for someone who has: A degree in Social Work (Socionomexamen). Class B driving license. Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Good knowledge of relevant legislation within the social services sector. It is an advantage if you have: Experience working as a social worker with children and youth. Experience with public authority functions within social services. Knowledge and experience working from a BBIC (Child's Needs in Focus) perspective. Personal Qualities To thrive and succeed in this role, you need a professional and respectful approach and be aware of how your attitude impacts children, young people, and families. You find it easy to create trusting relationships and collaborate well with both colleagues and external partners. You are confident in your professional role, structured in your work, and have the ability to make well-founded assessments and legally sound decisions. You also have the ability to handle complex situations with the child's best interests in focus. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. What you get from us! As an employee with us, you have access to wellness benefits, excellent opportunities for professional development, and the option to convert unused vacation days into additional compensation.
