The Children and Family Unit consists of approximately 15 employees and is organized into a reception and investigation group as well as an intervention group. In the intervention group, family foster care secretaries and child secretaries work with children who need care or housing outside the home. Each team has a supervising 1st social secretary. We know that work with children and young people is both qualified and sometimes complex. To ensure that you thrive and feel secure in your professional role, we place great emphasis on providing you with the right conditions from the start. As a new employee, you will have a colleague as a mentor who guides you through your first months, our systems, and local procedures. Your manager and supervisor are readily available in your daily work for consultation, support in difficult decisions, and regular case reviews. You have regular case discussions with your supervisor, and there are several forums each week for case discussion, shared learning, and experience exchange with colleagues. With us, you will also receive regular external process supervision, and we ensure that you receive continuous further training in areas such as BBIC and conversation methods through Yrkesresan. The unit actively works with quality, legal security, and development of social work. We want to create conditions for social secretaries to do good work, while also developing our working methods and strengthening children's participation throughout the case handling process. 2 position(s). WORK TASKS As a social secretary in the children and youth area, you work with authority functions with the child's best interests in focus. The assignment involves investigating, assessing, and following up on children's and young people's need for protection and support according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young People (LVU), and the Act on Placement of Children in Safe Housing (LBSB). You work with the entire case handling process, from receiving and assessing incoming notifications of concern and applications, to conducting investigations, making risk and safety assessments, making or proposing decisions on measures, and following up on granted measures. The work is carried out with the support of BBIC and applicable legislation, regulations, and local procedures. An important part of the work is to involve children and ensure that their voice and perspective are given a clear place throughout the process. You have conversations with children, guardians, and other important people in the child's network, and work to identify both needs, strengths, and possible ways forward together with the family. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or other education that the employer considers equivalent and that meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements to work with authority functions in children and youth care. It is an advantage if you have previous experience with authority functions in the social services children and youth care, and are used to working with investigations, assessments, and follow-up of measures. Experience with BBIC, work according to SoL, LVU, and LBSB, as well as knowledge of risk and safety assessments, are also advantages. To thrive in the role, you need to be confident in your professional role and be able to make independent, well-founded assessments while also seeing the value of collaboration and collegial support. You need to be able to structure and prioritize your work, manage several parallel processes, and maintain quality and legal security even when the work pace is periodically high. You have a professional and respectful approach and the ability to build trusting relationships with children, young people, and their families, even in situations that can be complex or conflict-filled. You need to be able to adapt your communication based on the child's age and circumstances, and have a clear child perspective in your work. Since the work involves cooperation, you need to have good ability to collaborate with both colleagues and external actors. At the same time, we expect you to take responsibility for your cases, actively contribute to the work team, and be open to reflection, feedback, and continued development.
