Ref: 20261853 Duties The Housing and Support Unit has a shared goal of providing people facing significant difficulties in their lives the opportunity to participate in community and live as others do. We work to reduce harmful consequences, motivate change and sustain it over time, and strengthen individuals' resources and capabilities through motivating, training, and sometimes compensatory approaches. Kirsebergsgården is a residential facility for men and women with or without harmful substance use or addiction, often combined with mental health challenges. The residents are of different ages, with different substance use patterns and unique life histories, experiences, and needs. Your duties will include supporting our residents in daily life and in their contact with authorities, and creating a safe and stable living environment. As a resident's primary contact person, you will work motivatingly to ensure that necessary services are connected and that goals in long-term planning are achieved. We maintain ongoing documentation and develop implementation plans together with residents. The role also includes providing support with practical tasks such as accompanying residents to meetings with authorities, assisting with documentation, and when needed, supporting with daily activities. We work based on low-arousal approaches, harm reduction work, and motivational conversations. Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must have: Post-secondary education as a social pedagogue from a vocational college corresponding to 400 vocational college credits (2 years) or equivalent from a folk high school, or alternatively a university degree of 180 credits in a relevant field Experience in social work Experience working with people living with mental health challenges Experience working with people with substance abuse issues Good knowledge of social services and its various interventions Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing It is meritorious if you have: Experience working with low-arousal approaches Worked with homeless individuals Training in motivational interviewing (MI) Worked with documentation in similar operations Experience with harm reduction approaches and methods Experience collaborating with other actors such as police, healthcare, and social services Driver's license category B for automatic transmission vehicles Language skills beyond Swedish The position requires good communication skills and that you are responsive and solution-focused. You have very good cooperation skills, are unpretentious, and are open to learning from our mistakes together. Furthermore, it is important that you are self-driven in the sense that you take your own initiative in situations where you need to seek more information or work toward closer collaboration with your colleagues or external actors to move forward on a matter.
