Your responsibilities In your role as a social pedagogue, you will primarily work with students in IMY (vocational introduction) who have extensive need for special support. You work closely with students in collaboration with teaching staff and student services. Through a solution-focused approach and a low-arousal manner, you support students as needed both during lessons and breaks, conduct outreach regarding student absences, and build strong relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You plan and implement recess activities and other group-strengthening initiatives, and work preventively and promotively to strengthen school attendance and create conditions for long-term academic success. You also support students and guardians on social matters and in contacts with authorities and other matters related to the student's schooling. When needed, you accompany students to internship placements and serve as support during various transitions and other situations where students need extra guidance. You are a trusted adult with high positive expectations of students and have a strong ability to adapt your approach based on the needs of the activity and the students. Your qualifications We are looking for someone with a vocational upper secondary education (YH) in social pedagogy or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have good computer skills and feel confident using computers, tablets, and other digital tools in daily work. You communicate well in Swedish both orally and in writing. If you also have experience working with students in school settings and mentoring children and young people with substance abuse issues, we see that as a plus. To succeed in this role, you need to be motivated by contributing to students' development and have a genuine interest in their learning and well-being. You are self-confident, have good self-insight, and act professionally when interacting with students, guardians, and colleagues. You remain calm even in challenging situations, have good judgment, and can make well-considered prioritizations. Furthermore, you are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances. Since the work is based on close collaboration with others, you have strong teamwork abilities and are skilled at creating and maintaining trusting relationships.
