The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with close to 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary school, and child and student health—we are here for children and students, together shaping the future. Bockstensskolan is located in the eastern part of central Varberg. The school accommodates approximately 300 students in grades F-5. Around the school there is an outdoor area with soccer fields, a running track, an ice rink, and a swimming hall. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a social pedagogue with us, you have a meaningful and relationship-focused assignment. You work to create the best possible conditions for learning by being present where students are and supporting them in their social development and daily school life. You work proactively and preventively to strengthen safety, study environment, and well-being, and you are a key person in developing the school's values-based work. You collaborate closely with teachers, student health services, and other staff to create an environment where every student feels joy and security. Your main assignment will be to follow a student's school day, both during school hours and during after-school care time. This is to ensure the student has a functioning school day throughout the entire day. This will happen in close cooperation with other staff members in the work team. The work may involve working with the whole class, together with teaching teachers, or in smaller group settings, or one-on-one. QUALIFICATIONS As a social pedagogue, you are a secure and clear adult role model with genuine commitment to young people's well-being. You have a strong ability to build trusting relationships and maintain your calm and warm demeanor even in challenging situations. For you, collaborative work without ego is self-evident; you share your expertise and work arm-in-arm with colleagues to find solutions that work for the individual student. You have good pedagogical intuition for social interaction and can adapt your approach based on students' different needs, strengths, and daily form. Since the role is built on trust and close collaboration, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. To thrive and succeed in this assignment, you have: - A social pedagogy degree from a college, vocational college, or folk high school that the employer considers relevant for the assignment. - Experience working with children and young people in a school environment. - Good knowledge of NPF and experience working with low-affect handling (LAB) or similar methods. - Clear planning ability to structure your work and follow up on social interventions systematically. - Good collaboration skills and a warm, relationship-building approach.
