Social Pedagogue at Ängshagenskolan

We are seeking a social pedagogue for Ängshagenskolan, a grades F-6 school in central Sala with approximately 200 students. At Ängshagenskolan, both students and staff thrive, making open positions with us uncommon. The position is limited to the fall semester, starting as soon as possible. Extension is possible subject to necessary decisions being made. Job Responsibilities You will work in our special education group, Studion, where together with teachers and student support professionals you will provide support to students who need extra accommodations or special support to succeed in school. The work includes relationship-building initiatives, support in social situations, motivation work, and collaboration with guardians. You work preventively and promotively with the goal that students feel safety, participation, and study peace in their school day. Your work is guided by the needs we observe in our students and may include both individual support and group-level interventions. As a social pedagogue, you are also a support for the school's staff in socio-pedagogical matters. You contribute knowledge and perspective on student interactions, relationship-building work, and promoting initiatives to create good conditions for students' development and learning. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is an examined social pedagogue or has other post-secondary education focused on children and young people that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you have education in, for example, sociology, behavioral science, or psychology. Experience working with children and young people in a school environment, work with students in need of special support, and knowledge of neuropsychiatric conditions are also advantageous. You are reliable and responsible and find it easy to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have a solution-oriented approach, good collaboration skills, and can work systematically toward established goals. You remain calm in challenging situations and have the courage to handle difficult conversations in a professional and respectful manner. A good understanding of the school's mission is advantageous. You can express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Employment Terms Permanent position, full-time, part-time options available.
