About the Organization
Bodaskolan is a grades 7-9 school with an A-resource unit, a special teaching group attached to it. The school is a place where people from many different cultures meet. We work to ensure that everyone is given space, motivation, and opportunity to develop and where everyone feels safe, appreciated, and included. What characterizes Bodaskolan is good relationships, committed adults who take a holistic view of student development, and students who feel comfortable and experience that they are learning a lot.
Job Responsibilities
As a social pedagogue at Bodaskolan 7-9, you work both preventatively and remedially to strengthen students' school experience. You are part of the school's student welfare team and, together with the principal and assistant principal, you work on the school's safety initiatives. You are involved in efforts to increase class attendance, handle and investigate bullying cases, and support and coach students in their social and emotional development. An important part of your role is to build trusting relationships with the students.
As a social pedagogue, you work closely with students and promote their well-being in the school environment. You are a safe adult that students can turn to. In addition to providing support during class time, you will spend parts of your workday in the school's common areas and cafeteria.
Qualifications
You ideally have a higher education degree in social pedagogy, but with relevant professional experience, a post-secondary social pedagogy education or social pedagogy education from a folk high school is also acceptable, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
As a person, you are flexible, action-oriented, cooperative, and patient. You are a clear leader, courageous, and have a great ability for independence and responsibility. You are skilled at building trusting and safe relationships, approach students with interest and respect, and adapt your approach based on the student's needs. As a social pedagogue, you are clear and consistent. You handle conflicts calmly and focus on creating constructive solutions.
We are looking for a person with personal maturity, who is secure in themselves and in their professional role—a stable adult who contributes to a safe and supportive school environment.
