Ersängsskolan is located on Östra Ersboda and is a multicultural grades F–9 school divided into several smaller schools. In total, there are just over 400 students at the school. There is also an adapted primary school with subject area focus and resource classes for the entire municipality. We have one of Sweden's best school libraries, and nearby there is a football field and adventure playground. Our engaged educators focus on a language-development approach with the goal that everyone will meet the knowledge requirements. Ersängsskolan is one of Umeå Municipality's practice schools, which means that during the school year we receive teacher students for their work-based training (VFU). We are now seeking a social pedagogue for Ersängsskolan's after-school program! This position is a temporary contract, full-time, starting September 21, 2026, through March 21, 2027. Your responsibilities As a social pedagogue with us, you will be among the students during school time and in the after-school program at Ersängsskolan. Your mission is to: Manage the after-school program. Plan and implement activities in the after-school program for grades F–3. Collaborate with classes during school time. Be present and build relationships with students and staff. Identify and implement early interventions for behavior that deviates from norms. Participate in meetings with guardians. Provide social and emotional support to individual students and groups; support such as helping them get to school. Collaborate with other professionals to facilitate for students and guardians. About you We seek someone with a social pedagogy degree or other equivalent education. You also have experience working with students in after-school activities for younger ages. We consider it a merit if you have experience working with people whose native language is not Swedish. To succeed in this work, you need to be a flexible and stable person who enjoys working with both children and adults in a school environment. You build good relationships with students and have strong empathetic abilities. You collaborate easily and communicate well with colleagues, guardians, and other cooperation partners. We place great importance on personal suitability. Good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required for this position in order to communicate with students, guardians, and colleagues.
