Valkas novada Social Services (Reg. No. 40900027820) invites applications on a permanent basis for a Social Assistance Coordinator position (Profession Code 3412 03 per the Profession Classifier). Work location: Semināra iela 9, Valka, Valkas novads. Key Responsibilities: Inform and advise households about their social assistance entitlements and implementation options; Accept and register written and verbal applications from individuals, ensuring processing in accordance with applicable regulations; Assess the client's material situation and determine the necessary type, scope, and duration of social assistance; visit clients at their residence if needed; Verify information provided by the client and obtain information about the client from state and municipal data registers; Make decisions on granting or denying social assistance. Requirements for Candidates: Minimum first-level professional higher education or currently pursuing relevant education (preference given to candidates with education in the social field or interest in pursuing such education); Knowledge of legislation regulating social assistance and social services; Understanding of fundamental principles in providing social services and social assistance; State language proficiency at the highest level; Excellent digital skills; High sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, emotional resilience; Ability to make decisions consistently and establish priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in social work with diverse client groups; Experience working with the SOPA program; Experience in customer service.
