Riga Social Service announces a competition for social assistance organizer (Level 1) positions (profession code 3412 03).
Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Department of Welfare of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, and ensures assistant services in the municipality to Riga residents.
The position's objective is to assess and ensure the provision of social assistance to meet basic needs of individuals. Accept and register applications from social assistance applicants, evaluate the person's social and material situation, and prepare subsistence declarations.
We will entrust you with:
informing clients about their rights to social assistance and the possibilities and procedures for exercising these rights, as well as their obligations in receiving social assistance;
assessing the social and material situation of an individual (family), preparing a Subsistence Declaration, processing electronically received "Subsistence Declarations";
accepting and registering social assistance applicant applications in the municipality's social assistance information system SOPA;
performing registration and computerized record-keeping of allocated and received assistance;
providing accurate and understandable answers to clients' questions and other duties;
preparing draft administrative acts and information letters in accordance with regulatory requirements.
We expect:
Level 1 higher professional education or Level 2 higher professional or academic education, or students pursuing education in social assistance, social work, or charitable social work programs, as well as at least short-cycle higher education;
state language proficiency at C1 level (highest level);
ability to navigate regulatory acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
communication culture and ability to interact with people;
ability to make independent decisions within your competence.

monthly salary - 1280.00 EUR (before tax);
work location - Social Assistance and Social Services Center of the Pardaugava District Department, Baldones Street 2, Riga.
