senior social pedagogue

Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center is a municipal institution of Riga city that provides:
short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth;
crisis intervention services and social work with families with children, pregnant women;
crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children, and pregnant women;
prevention in social work and psychosocial assistance for children and youth before and after the termination of out-of-home care until the age of 24;
social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children, pregnant women.
The purpose of the position is to ensure the satisfaction of social needs of children and youth in the institution, helping to solve or reduce their social problems by engaging necessary resources. Identify social problems of children and youth and lead the process of addressing social cases. Represent the interests and rights of children and youth in other institutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
organizing necessary social services and meeting social needs for each child and youth,
establishing, maintaining (supplementing and improving), and managing personal files of children and youth,
handling matters related to legal status of children and youth, monitoring the progress of their legal matters,
cooperating with other staff members, leading and supervising team work to ensure the provision of quality services to children and youth according to their needs,
preparing necessary documents about a child or youth within your competence upon written request from state and municipal institutions and submitting them to the relevant authority.
We expect:
second-level professional higher or academic education in pedagogy with a qualification of social pedagogue,
preferred practical work experience of 1 year,
ability to apply regulatory documents,
ability to work in a team and promote cooperation,
excellent knowledge of the state language and knowledge of one foreign language at communication level,
precision, high sense of responsibility, good argumentation and cooperation skills,
high communication culture and ability to interact with people,
willingness to work in a dynamic and changing work environment,
good skills in working with a computer (MS Office environment).
