Main Job Responsibilities:
- Provide social work services to families with children;
- Assess families' social situations, determine needs, resources and social problems, inspect living conditions;
- Create client files and work in the SOPA information system;
- Conduct risk assessments in families with children where conditions are unfavorable to child development;
- Develop intervention plans;
- Prepare opinions for guardianship courts and other institutions upon request;
- Prepare decision drafts;
- Inform clients about decisions made;
- Work with the Minor Persons Support Information System (NPAIS);
- Develop inter-professional and inter-institutional cooperation.
Requirements for Applicants:
- Second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work (Social Services and Social Assistance Law, Article 41);
- Knowledge of Latvian Republic and European Union laws related to work, ability to use internal regulatory documents in work;
- Understanding of basic principles of social services and social assistance provision in Latvia;
- Skills in working with MS Office programs, internet and e-mail. Experience with SOPA program will be considered an advantage;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Good communication skills, empathy;
- High sense of responsibility, communication culture and precision;
- Understanding of social needs of families, individuals and various social groups;
- Understanding of resource development and engagement in solving social problems;
- Ability to identify and analyze clients' social problems, their causes and consequences;
- Experience in social work or social work practice will be considered an advantage;
- State language proficiency at the highest level.
