Rīgas Sociālais dienests is announcing a recruitment competition for a social worker position in family and child services (profession code 2635 03).
Rīgas Sociālais dienests is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services to residents of Riga.
The position aims to provide professional support in addressing social problems for families with children, families with children experiencing unemployment issues, and families with children with functional disabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
identifying social problems of families with children and assessing their social situation;
working with families with children where a child-development-friendly environment is not being provided;
informing and consulting clients about their rights to social assistance and services, opportunities for realization, and client responsibilities in receiving social services and assistance;
creating client files, regularly documenting the social case management process, and ensuring necessary documentation for service provision;
managing the course of social case resolution;
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work;
organizing communication with clients and other institutions;
ensuring regular reporting to the guardianship court about children in out-of-home care;
preparing assessments on client cooperation in problem-solving, communication organization, decisions regarding assistance or services, etc.
We expect:
second-level professional or academic higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students studying social work who have completed their third year and are continuing into their fourth year;
excellent knowledge of Latvian language;
skills in navigating normative acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
culture of communication and ability to interact with people;
ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
