Riga Social Service announces an open competition for candidates for the position of social worker with social case management (profession code 2635 01)
Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services in the municipality to Riga residents.
Position purpose - to provide professional support to adults in resolving social problems.
We will entrust you with:
performing social work with adults who are unable to meet their needs or have found themselves in crisis situations.
responding to threat situations and immediately informing the responsible institutions according to their competence.
assessing the client's social situation and identifying problems.
developing a social rehabilitation plan and implementing interventions.
evaluating the effectiveness of social case management and the appropriateness of provided services to client needs.
within the framework of social work, conducting home visits for clients, assessing living conditions, providing consultations at the residence.
reflecting the case management process and/or service provision in the client's file in accordance with legal requirements.
informing and consulting clients about their rights and obligations, available social support and opportunities for its realization, as well as clients' participation obligations in receiving social services.
in the social case management process, using various social work theories and methods, and when necessary, within the scope of competence, representing client interests.
preparing opinions and/or reports on collaboration with clients, preparing written responses to inquiries (petitions) in accordance with legal requirements.
closing client cases in accordance with requirements set out in internal legal acts. Decisions on case closure must be justified and clients must be informed.
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work.
We expect:
education – first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work;
good knowledge of Latvian language;
skills in navigating legal acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
contact culture, ability to interact with people;
ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
