Riga Children's, Youth and Family Social Support Center is a municipal institution of Riga that provides:
short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth;
crisis intervention services and social work with families with children and pregnant women;
crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children and pregnant women;
preventive social work and psychosocial assistance for children and youth before and after the termination of out-of-family care until age 24;
social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children, and pregnant women.
The position's purpose is to ensure child-rearing appropriate to children's and youth's age and health status. To prepare children and youth for independent living. To care for children and youth and meet their needs, develop hygiene and cultural behavior habits, household skills, and guide individual development of children and youth.
We will entrust you with:
planning and organizing children's daily routines, developing intellectual and creative abilities through classes, studies, and leisure activities, fostering cultural behavior and hygiene habits in children and youth;
leading children's socialization process and gradual integration into society, helping them understand and adopt social norms and requirements; promoting self-awareness development in children and youth and teaching the importance of communication skills in mutual relationships;
building children's understanding of a comfortable, well-maintained environment, fostering understanding of safe and harmless conditions at home and in public life;
cooperating with educational institutions, monitoring and following children's and youth's school progress and academic achievements, helping them master school subjects, preparing homework;
participating with other specialists in developing and implementing children's individual development plans, supporting children and youth in the implementation of their individual development plans.
We expect:
first or second level higher education, or in some cases professional secondary education;
excellent knowledge of the state language and knowledge of one foreign language at a conversational level;
ability to work in a team and promote cooperation;
flexibility, ability to respond promptly and problem-solving skills;
accuracy, high sense of responsibility, good argumentation and cooperation skills;
high communication culture, sense of responsibility and communication abilities.
