Description We are now seeking a crafts teacher for grades 3-6 at Björkåsskolan! Björkåsskolan is a brand new school characterized by vibrant creativity, innovation, and a pioneering spirit. The school is located in Järnbrott, Västra Frölunda and has approximately 300 students from preschool through grade 6. We are part of the school district Sydväst 2, which includes the schools Björkåsskolan and Flatåsskolan. The school is organized in grade-level teams where we gather around the student's entire school day. Working together is important to us, and everyone's skills and interests enable us to meet the students in the best possible way. Responsibilities As a teacher at Björkåsskolan, you work together with your colleagues to develop instruction and create a safe and educational school day for the students. In this role, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction within your subject. As a crafts teacher, you work with students based on the curriculum and course plan in crafts and create instruction that inspires students' creativity, curiosity, and desire to learn. We seek an engaged teacher who actively wants to drive instruction and shared knowledge development to enhance students' learning environment. We view collaborative work as essential, and together with your colleagues you create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where students feel the desire to learn and develop. The educational activities are based on each student's individual conditions and abilities and aim to both support and challenge them in their continued learning and social development. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher for grades 3–6 with authorization to teach wood and textile crafts. You have good knowledge of the school's curriculum, course plans, and other governing documents. You have experience teaching both wood and textile crafts. As a person, you are confident and clear in your leadership and have the ability to create a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment where students are given good conditions to develop.
