The Care Worker Role On our acute care ward, we meet patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions – from psychotic disorders and affective disorders to personality disorders and neuropsychiatric variations. Care is provided both on a voluntary basis and within the framework of compulsory psychiatric care. We also offer the possibility for voluntary admission, which gives our patients greater participation and security. During their stay with us, we offer daily conversations between patients and nursing staff, and as a care worker you are responsible for ensuring these are offered. We also provide physical activities such as group and individual walks. The department is also responsible for compulsory psychiatric care in accordance with the Act (1991:1128) on Compulsory Psychiatric Care. As a care worker, you will be involved in observing the patient's condition together with nurses, social workers, and physicians. As a care worker with us, you are also expected to participate in coercive measures in accordance with LPT. This position is a full-time temporary contract covering parental leave. Start date is by agreement. We work on a six-week rotation schedule where you work every third weekend. Two of these weekends provide two consecutive days off, and the third gives you a three-day period off – all designed to create good conditions for recovery. The schedule also allows time for professional development and operational improvements, both in groups and individually, depending on the department's needs. Experience working in psychiatric care is desirable but not required. For you to thrive with us, we believe you are a secure and stable person who works well with others. You express a positive attitude toward your work and act in accordance with decisions made.
